    Eutron saca su nuevo producto SmartPico (inglés)

    Eutron is proud to market an absolutely unique and innovatory solution, the combination between

    • - SmartKey, its hardware key for software protection, and
    • - PicoDisk, its memory key,

      • confident that this innovation will mark a change in the software protection market and give a further stimulus to the shift towards the USB standard and to the sector strengthening.

      SmartPico is a compact USB device that combines SmartKey's software protection features with PicoDisk's typical data transfer and storage handiness. Each SmartPico is characterized by a unique code that is recognized by the software to be protected and enables its proper working. The software can reside in SmartPico's memory partition and can be protected through an automatic procedure for the encryption of executable files or through the integration of special software drivers that will reside in SmartPico directly. Using SmartPico memory key is simple: just plug the device into the computer USB port and a new unit will be immediately available among the system resources.

      Large-scale production of SmartPico is scheduled for mid April. The product is going to come in a wide range of models and storage sizes. Specifically, the key sticks to SmartKey's versions (FX, PR, EP, SP and NET) with memory capacities of 64 - 128 - 256 - 512 MB (up to 2 GB on commission).

      SmartPico enables various opportunities:

      • on the one hand, software houses can deliver their customers one single device on which both their application and the SmartKey drivers for software protection are loaded (please note that the application could be run by the dongle itself)
      • on the other hand, customers will have a personal tool at disposal for transferring personal or confidential data even when the dongle is not plugged in the USB port in order to allow the execution of the software house's application
      • finally, software houses will be able to supply an application that starts in autorun mode and automatically installs all necessary components
